DAVID RABSCH - FOUNDER OF THE FESTIVAL

David Rabsch is a seasoned web developer with over 13 years of experience in web services management, PHP and MySQL development, responsive web design, and Linux environments. He currently works as a Web Services Manager for the Province of Manitoba.

Alongside his career in the IT sector, David is a dedicated film enthusiast and the co-founder of the Canadian International Comedy Film Festival, which he launched in 2013 together with Andrew Wall to celebrate and promote comedy cinema. He combines technical expertise with a genuine passion for film and independent creative projects.

ANDREW WALL - FOUNDER OF THE FESTIVAL

Andrew Wall is a Canadian filmmaker, producer, and co-founder of the Canadian International Comedy Film Festival. A graduate of the University of Manitoba, Andrew is the founder of Refuge 31 Films Inc., where he develops and produces independent films and documentaries.

His work has been recognized internationally, earning awards and nominations from festivals such as the Canada International Film Festival, World Humanitarian Film Awards, Accolade Global Film Competition, and Fort Worth Independent Film Showcase. Through both his filmmaking and festival work, Andrew remains deeply committed to storytelling that blends creativity, humanity, and strong social themes.

ALEX MORGAN -  DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Alex Morgan is a Canadian filmmaker and visual storyteller based in Toronto. With a passion for independent cinema, Alex focuses on character-driven stories that blend subtle humor with emotional depth. His work explores everyday human moments through a modern, minimalist filmmaking style, celebrating creativity, authenticity, and the power of storytelling.

EMILY CARTER - EVENT MANAGER

Emily Carter is a Canadian filmmaker and creative producer based in Vancouver, known for her thoughtful, character-driven approach to storytelling. She is a graduate of the Vancouver Film School, where she specialized in film production and directing, developing a strong visual language and a passion for emotionally grounded narratives.

Emily’s work often blends subtle humor with intimate human moments, focusing on relationships, identity, and everyday experiences. Alongside her independent projects, she actively supports emerging filmmakers and collaborative creative communities, believing in cinema as a space for connection, reflection, and shared cultural dialogue.

SOPHIE LAURENT - MARKETING


Sophie Laurent is a Canadian filmmaker and screenwriter based in Montreal, working across narrative film and creative documentary. Her work explores themes of identity, memory, and human connection, often blending realism with a poetic visual style.

She is particularly interested in character-driven storytelling and socially conscious cinema, focusing on intimate stories that reflect everyday experiences and emotional truth. Sophie is passionate about collaborative filmmaking and supporting diverse voices within the independent film community.
